Limited funding available for full-time students

Internetnz_iitp_nzriseApplication for student ITx funding

Stop press: NZRise has joined the student funding initiative, meaning we're now fully funding 25 registrations!

The Institute of IT Professionals (IITP), InternetNZ and NZRise are working together to fully fund 25 registrations to the upcoming ITx Conference for full-time tertiary students in New Zealand.

ITx 2016 is on Monday 11th July to Wednesday 13th July in Wellington, which is within most tertiary institution's holiday period. The funding provided covers a full conference registration over the three days, including social events.

Applications will be selected and approved based on:

  1. Applicant being full-time students at a New Zealand tertiary institution, and not otherwise being in a position to attend ITx 2016.
  2. Applicants being able to clearly articulate how attending the conference will help with their study and future career prospects within the industry.
  3. The selection process will ensure a reasonable level of (1) gender and cultural diversity and (2) attendees from multiple tertiary institutions.
  4. An element of "first-in, first served" for those meeting the other criteria.

Note that the funding available includes a full registration to ITx 2016, including lunches, evening social functions and the New Zealand Excellence in IT Awards Gala Dinner on the Tuesday night. Those successful will need to arrange their own travel to Wellington as well as accommodation and any other related costs.

We also understand that some people won't want to attend the conference on their own. While applications are for individuals only, listing 1-2 friends who are also applying will allow us to take into consideration a wish to attend together.

Applications are now closed

Thanks to all who have applied. We have closed applications after receiving 75 applications for the 25 places. The team are working through the applications now and will confirm the successful applicants on Monday 4 July 2016.
