Making Pies Together

Tuesday 11:20am - 11:50am, IITP Conference (Axios Plenary Room)

If technology is one of the drivers of our economy how can we make sure we are doing the right things to help it grow?

Before the earthquakes Christchurch’s tech sector had been growing much faster than the national average, but after the earthquakes Christchurch’s tech sector growth had slowed. This realisation that the size of the tech pie in New Zealand was growing while Christchurch’s portion had got smaller catalysed the sector to come together to develop a Christchurch Tech Sector Strategy.

Helen will talk about the collaboration that created the strategy, the hurdles and challenges. She also has a call to action for the wider NZ tech community to act as a tech city of 4m people.
